The tradition of mariners at Chase, Leavitt & Co. starts with our staff, who maintain active US Coast Guard licenses and have served as Officers aboard various Merchant Vessels – providing a unique perspective for our clients.

Our commitment and ability to perform this work starts with the Principles of our company – namely, Capt. Shawn Moody and Capt. Daniel Guay.  As seasoned Professional Mariners, they have extensive experience in the maritime industry and are highly regarded within the maritime community. Both gentlemen have proven themselves in their chosen profession and have successfully Co-Directed the operations of Chase, Leavitt & Co. for nearly two decades. As committed professionals dedicated in offering the highest quality service to the maritime community, Capt. Moody and Capt. Guay have been in the business of providing 24-hour, 365 days-a-year service throughout their entire careers.

As Co-Directors of this historical company, Capt. Moody and Capt. Guay have both a thorough understanding and comprehensive knowledge of all critical aspects in providing Port Agency Services to our clients.

Additionally, Capt. William Leavitt (President Emeritus) has been actively involved in the success of Chase, Leavitt & Co. for over 60 years. As the 4th generation of the Leavitt Family, Capt. Leavitt has successfully steered Chase, Leavitt & Co. into becoming a world prominent Port Agency Company – providing representation to some of the most prestigious maritime shipping interests within the industry. Throughout his professional career, Capt. Leavitt has been an active member of numerous maritime societies, committees, alliances, and forums and continues to participate in the success of Chase, Leavitt & Co. Capt. Leavitt will ensure all aspects of our Proposal are met to the fullest satisfaction for your organization.

An important asset to our team has been the addition of Mr. Scot Clontz. Throughout the past several years, Mr. Clontz has successfully assisted Chase, Leavitt & Co. in providing Port Agency Services to numerous cruise vessels making port calls to Bar Harbor, Maine. Mr. Clontz continues to successfully coordinate all port services, ensuring that all vessel port calls are conducted in an effective and efficient manner for all our maritime clients.

All of the aforementioned professionals graduated from Maine Maritime Academy and have maintained US Coast Guard Licenses throughout their careers. Chase, Leavitt & Co. also understands the evolving requirements regarding maritime security and prudently ensures all our Port Agents are properly processed through the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card system.
